Instead of serving the usual champagne and strawberries this Valentine’s Day, put the classic duo in cake form. To give the strawberries a gilded touch, visit a specialty baking store for edible gold sprinkles.
Chocolate and cherry gets a boozy upgrade with the addition of Kirschwasser, a German brandy. Standard brandy or rum work just as well if Kirschwasser isn’t available.
Dark chocolate and raspberries create a sense of classic romance. We especially like a snowy dusting of confectioner’s sugar atop this quick and easy cake.
