Goodnight Irene. No seriously…goodnight Irene.

Along with causing loss of life and limb, $3 billion in property damage and power outages in 4 million homes and businesses in the northeast, Hurricane Irene has left yet another loss in her hateful wake: Pumpkins. The raging storms uprooted more than one New England patch resulting in fewer pumpkins to go around this season for many.

Our advice? Gather ye pumpkins while ye may…and cook 'em up while ye can. Here are a few recipes to try that make the most of our favorite fall fruit.
