Cooling off
As cookies bake, the gap between the zig-zag cut will close up again. While cookies are still warm from the oven, trace zig-zag line with the dull edge of a small knife.

As surely as the sun'll come out tomorrow, someone's gonna get hurt on April Fools' Day. Or at least really, really embarrassed.

There will be pranks pulled, legs pulled. There will surely be shenanigans and tomfoolery to spare. Rubber chickens will get their day in the sun on April 1, and someone's Swingline stapler is going to end up suspended in lemon Jello-O, you can bet your bottom dollar.

But if you'd rather leave them smiling, consider giving your office mates and friends a gag gift that will keep on giving. A batch of our Achy Bakey Hearts will deliver a subtle jab or even help heal the wounded pride of prankee fallen prey to a prankster. To make them, use your favorite Sugar Cookie recipe (or try ours), then follow along with our step-by-step photo gallery below.
